We’re happy to see a growing interest in Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)—documents that describe and quantify the environmental impact of construction materials, products, and components based on their ecobalances and their functional and technical properties. EPDs are important for LEED certification, Living Building Challenge certification, and for anyone concerned with environmental impact and material toxicity.
In North America, two main standards are most commonly requested by our customers:

EPDs through The International EPD System, based in Stockholm, Sweden, and verified by a third party. Pro Clima’s EPD page can be found here.

Declare labels through the International Living Future Institute, which screen a product’s material toxicity, life expectancy, end-of-life options, and compliance with the Living Building Challenge requirements. Pro Clima’s products listed with Declare can be found here.
Many EPDs for airtight systems provide generic values for their tapes and adhesives, but Pro Clima goes above and beyond by publishing detailed EPDs for each individual component. This makes Pro Clima’s EPDs among the most transparent and comprehensive currently available. This level of detail supports specifiers and carbon assessors in designing lower-carbon buildings with greater confidence and clarity.
