Since its founding in 1991, Fakro has grown to become a global competitor in the skylight market by prioritizing health, safety, security, and environmental impact. 475 High Performance Building Supply has distributed Fakro pitched roof skylights in North America for over a decade, including the FTT U6 triple pane and the FTT U8 PHI Certified model.
The frames in Fakro's FTT, FPP, and FNP deck mounted skylights are FSC pinewood – a sustainably harvested carbon sequestering material. Fakro skylights provide best-in class U-values via this thermally broken timber frame and triple/quadruple layer glazing, which can be coated to optimize solar gains. The skylight frames are combined with insulated flashing kits supplied with each skylight to minimize thermal bridging with the surrounding roof structure, which improves the overall thermal performance of the installed skylight.
In addition to the center pivot FTT U6 & U8 models, 475 also supplies the top hung FPP and permanently fixed FNP skylights. These latter options are available with a reduced SHGC of 20%, which is ideal for south facing skylights or skylights in warmer climates.

FTT U6 - Pitched Roof, Center Pivot Skylight
The innovative design of the Fakro FTT U6 provides optimized thermal performance while allowing for high solar gains. The U6's triple pane glass is set in a thick timber frame that minimizes thermal bridging, allowing for skylights to be utilized in high performance buildings without compromising the thermal performance of the roof. An FTT skylight operates around a center pivot for ventilation of the interior space and access for cleaning of the skylight exterior. This skylight has an R-value of 7.1, window U-value of 0.14 BTU/hft²F (0.7 W/m²K), and glazing U-value of 0.088 BTU/hft²F (0.5 W/m²K). An innovative support mechanism allows the sash to open freely between 0-40 degrees and remain steady at the chosen inclination. Available in a variety of standard as well as custom sizes, FTT skylights can provide ample light in attics, cathedral ceilings, and other sloped roof conditions.

A step up from the U6 performance-wise, the quadruple-pane FTT U8 boasts quadruple layer glazing and is a PHI Certified component. The FTT U8 achieves an R-Value of 9.8, Uw value of 0.10 BTU/hft²F (0.58 W/m²K), and a Ug value of 0.05 BTU/hft²F (0.3 W/m²K). Like the U6, the FTT U8 offers a robust timber frame, which is thicker than most North American window frames. The FTT U6 and U8 look nearly identical, however the crucial difference is the additional pane in the U8, making it the most efficient skylight offering from 475.
FPP - Pitched Roof, Top Hung and Center Pivot Skylight
Fakro FPP skylights have a similar aesthetic to the FTT series, but offer operability via hinges at the top of the sash, which allows the skylight to be opened outward. This top-hung operability makes it simpler to detail the integration of interior insect screens, which can be mounted just beneath FPP skylights. In addition, the FPP is available with a reduced SHGC as low as 20%, while achieving an R-value of 5.9, Uw value of 0.17 BTU/hft²F (0.97 W/m²K), and a Ug value of 0.088 BTU/hft²F (0.5 W/m²K).
FNP - Pitched Roof, Fixed Skylight
FNPs are fixed skylights for pitched roofs. These skylights have triple layer glazing with a SHGC of 20% for code compliance across North America without the need for exterior shading. The FNP assembly provides excellent thermal performance, particularly when combined with Fakro's insulated flashing kits. This assembly offers an R-value of 5.9, Uw value of 0.17 BTU/hft²F (0.97 W/m²K), and a Ug value of 0.088 BTU/hft²F (0.5 W/m²K). FNP skylights are stocked by 475 in several sizes and so are readily available in North America.
DXW - Flat Roof, Fixed Walkable Skylight
The DXW is a walkable skylight suitable for flat and low pitch roofs with slope between 0º-15º. These skylights are produced with safety in mind, and provide a load bearing outer glass pane with a non-slip coating. The DXW provides daylight to interior spaces, while maintaining a completely flat, walkable surface ideally suited for terraces or green roofs. The skylight assembly consists of triple layer glazing and a continuously insulated multi-chamber frame made from partially recycled PVC material that is highly durable. This assembly offers an R-value of 4.5, Uw value of 0.22 BTU/hft²F (1.25 W/m²K), and a Ug value of 0.08 BTU/hft²F (0.45 W/m²K).
